2/23/06 I just read The Crafts Report for the first time. I'm a recent BFA graduate (ceramics) so I'm trying to educate my self in the business of art! It seems that your column could be a good source for hints and tips! My artistic concepts deal heavily with natural imagery so your designs are right up my alley! i love it! Question: do you work with precious stones and metals too? I will (eventually) be looking for an engagement ring designer, and I think your aesthetic would make avery unique engagement ring! I would also like to receive any mailings/post cards you send out -A.C., Richmond ,Virginia

2/5/06 Loretta, I have only recently discovered The Crafts Report and your "Last Line". Thanks for the information you give to artists across the country. I am completely "self-taught", hence I do allot of "Trial and Error" with design and marketing ideas. But I love it! Bright Blessings,-C.S.

2/5/06 Loretta, I loved your article in The Crafts Report (February 2006). I appreciate how you share from your heart and the daily struggles of having your own studio. 1/30/06 Hi Loretta, I also read the Crafts Report article and was very intrigued by your thoughts on the usefulness of a guest book. Would you take a look at our web site (http://www.SAQA.com) - do you think that a guest book would be appropriate for this type of site? Or is it more suited to an individual artist's web site? I'd appreciate your help. Thank you. BTW, your jewelry is beautiful. I especially like the combination of the black and white photos with the patina on your Gravid line. -M .S.

1/29/06 Greetings Loretta, and Happy New Year I am also a jewelry maker (specializing in one of a kind intricate bead work) with a web site. I hand code from scratch. Having read your end page in The Crafts
Report, I decided to take you up on your invitation to visit your guest book
as I have decided to create one of my own. -P. V.

1/27/06 Loretta: I just read your column in the January 2006 Crafts Report and your discussion of hiring outside for graphics work has given me food for thought. Being an artist in one area does not necessarily translate to other areas!! Thanks for the good ideas. And your jewelry is great, very personal and unusual. Please add me to your email list. Thank you,-C.A.

1/25/06 Hello Loretta, I am an auctioneer in Warrenton, VA and "Floor General" Sandy, who keeps me on track at my auctions, read your article in The Craft Report.  I received it on my fax this morning and developed my Guest Book this afternoon.  What a GREAT idea !  I received two cards recently and started my Guest Book with those.  Keep those inspiring articles coming.  Thanks again ... -K.S. Warrenton, Virginia

1/20/06 Hello Loretta, I love the idea of winning a piece of your jewelry. It is exquisite. The photography you put in the jewelry is very beautiful and unique. I really like the black and white images. Very striking. -M.W. New York City, New York

1/17/06 Dear Loretta, I have a Guest Book on my site, but I really like the idea of offering something for someone to win. Thank you for the inspiration. It may have been the first time I read a suggestion in a magazine and implemented it within 24 hours! My revised site has been up for over a month, and although I have respectable stats, not one order, and weeks go by with no one signing the guest book-I even sent out an email to 192 members of my professional Artists Guild that I helped found-and only one person signed the book! I had wanted to offer something really juicy-but my husband didn't think it was a good idea to start with. I see his point as I have been waiting expectantly ...-A.M. Denver, Colorado

1/17/06 I always enjoy your articles in The Crafts Report (I save it for last like dessert!) and was so pleased to see that your are as skilled an artist as you are a writer. Kudos to you!  The site looks great - I'm so inspired by you. Keep up the good work. Cheers, -C.K. Prescott, Arizona

1/12/06 Wonderful jewelry. Very inspiring. -R.N., Tiffin, Ohio

1/10/06 First I would like to tell you how much I enjoyed the Loretta's Last Line column in the December issue of The Crafts Report.  I, too, am a jeweler, and one of the most exciting parts of my work is handing a piece to someone and telling the story behind it and the materials (besides using the typical jewelry materials, I sometimes include bits and pieces of driftwood, shells, beach stones, etc.) But I never really thought about someone giving my work as a gift.  I know some of my patrons do buy my work to give as gifts, but your article but that in writing in front of me and it gave me a little chill!! Keep up the good work in the Last Line.  I very much enjoy it and the whole magazine.-M.B., Powell, Ohio

11/1/05 Loretta, I have been enjoying your articles in The Crafts Report for some time. They are bright, energetic and informative. I have been focusing on my own art work for a few years and found myself especially intrigued by your September article about honing a great wholesale line. In that article you mentioned your workshop at the Arts Business Institute and the worksheet/exercises that you shared with your students there. I wanted to know if it possible to get copies of these. Thank you for your entertaining words of wisdom. I look forward to reading many more of your articles in the future. -R. H., Signal Hill, California

10/26/05 Many thanks! I love your earrings and can't wait to wear them! They go with everything! Best of luck with your new baby!

-S.F., Brunswick, New York

9/4/05 Loretta, I picked up my ring today at Taboo Studio (an emergency vet bill postponed my pick up, but all is well).  Oh.My.God.  The ring is even more amazing than I remember.  I love love love it!  And you sent earrings!  And a personal note!  How magnanimous.  And they are perfect.  I don't plan on taking those off :). I so appreciate your generosity.  This entire transaction has been wonderful, and I dearly cherish the workmanship and the meaning behind it.  I can't stop looking at the pieces--I feel so special in them.  Please add me to your email list--I may have to add to my collection :).  Take care.  And I hear you're having a baby!  Congrats!
-B.L., San Diego, California

6/01/05 Hi Loretta, I saw your pieces at Taboo Studio earlier this year, and it has been haunting me ever since.  I love the idea of using photographs set under mica as a memory keepsake, along with elements of the area (beach pebbles, etc).  I may have to order that ring ...
- B.L., San Diego, California

5/31/05 I love your jewelry! Great work!!
- A.G., Northampton, Massachusetts

4/20/05 Just wanted to drop a little note to let you know that your column "Getting the Story Right" was excellent! I look forward to reading your next episode! The memories you discussed in your writing seem right out of a book! So charming. I had an article written in our local paper "The Times Herald Record" about two years ago- she described my work in an entirely fresh, organized fashion. It is nice to hear your story told from another person's view! Thank you again and I look forward to reading your next inspirational story!
- D.C., Middletown, New York

3/18/05 "Loretta, thank you for replacing the lost earring. I haven't picked it up yet, but I know it will be perfect!"
- K.S., Troy, New York

3/15/05 What a surprise to read your column in The Crafts Report magazine about the opening night at Taboo Studio.  I live in La Jolla and attended that opening.  I had always wanted to visit the studio and then a friend received an invitation and invited me to go with her.  I remember seeing you with your sister and as I was about to leave, you asked one of the customers to take your picture with your sister.  I moved to the side to be out of your way.  I am guessing the picture on your web site is the one the person took!  I remember thinking how exciting it must have been to have your jewelry in such a lovely store.  Of course, at the time, I didn't realize you were also the same person who writes the articles in The Crafts Report that I always enjoy reading.  I hope the show was a success for you!
- L.N., La Jolla, California

3/06/05 "CONGRATS!!! You have a column, and your first article (Lasagna

- K.W., Arvada, Colorado
